The Philippines and Its People

You live here. That's why you don't see what beauty your country possesses. You only see the negatives. Now, that's only normal. But that has to change. If there has to be someone who could first appreciate his yard, it should be the owner. After all, ranting all about the negative stuff you see everyday on television, or read from the papers, will not help in any way. I always read people quoting Alphonse Karr's words, "Some people are always grumbling because roses have thorns; I am thankful that thorns have roses." The Philippines needs to be reminded of that. Every Filipino has to start looking at the Philippines from a better perspective.
Everywhere you look, people smile. When someone smiles at me, even when I don't know the person, it completes my day. It makes me want to share and spread smile, too. Everyone has a happy soul.
And then there's the colors and smell. Everyday I have to travel from our place to my university, and what do I see and smell? Colorful jeepneys, public markets, the rice field and the blue sky, and the majestic Mount Mayon. It's all worth appreciating. And I am glad I live in a place where there are no towering buildings blocking my view from everything.
The food is definitely the first thing people would answer if you ask them what they miss about the Philippines. I have been reading posts on the internet how people miss adobo, sinigang, dinuguan, and snacks treats like champorado, puto, bibingka. Those are just some of the Filipino food that I would not exchange for anything.
People, even those not from here, are talking about the Philippines. Some are bad, some are good. Some of them are true, some of them are myopic views. What means a lot for me, though, are those good things about the Philippines that people from around here tell and spread.

So, last week, I signed up for PayPerPost.com (And maybe you should, too, if you wanna make some money from blogging. This is not product placement, guys.)
WARNING: Bieber fans, turn away from this blog post. This post is not for you. I believe in your freedom to choose what kind of music to listen to, I think I have that same freedom to post something like this. We're equals now.
Here's what this post is all about:
It's amazing how your very first offer from PayPerPost is something you think you will never write about. I have to write a 30-word post for Justin Bieber's concert including links where anyone can buy tickets. That should be easy, right? I don't think so.
It's like one guy from PayPerPost.com said, "If this kid can write about Bieber, he can write just about anything. Because Bieber's hard to write. Let's put him to the ultimate test," to everyone in the meeting. Now, I will Click the Save button. As soon as you read about this, please raise your hand, think of me, and whisper your wishes and "goodluck" to me. I need that.
